Forestry Mulching and Habitat Management in Central Louisiana
Bayou Mulching and Habitat opens up hunting land, clears overgrown acreage, and puts food plots where you want them. We work within 50 miles of Pineville, and farther by arrangement.
Built for Landowners, Not Lawns
Most of the people who call us own hunting land, timber, or rural acreage. The work is judged by what the land does afterward.
Twenty Years in the Dirt
Bayou Mulching and Habitat is the land division of Jeff's Lawn and Landscape, serving central Louisiana customers since 2004. Forestry mulching joined the lineup in 2015.
State Licensed
Licensed by the Louisiana State Board for Contractors and twice by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. The numbers are in the footer of every page.
Built Around Habitat
Hunters and recreational landowners want cover and browse, not bare dirt. We cut with the habitat in mind, so the land hunts better when we leave.
Local and Reachable
Based on Old Marksville Hwy in Pineville. We answer the phone, and evening consultations and site visits are available for working landowners.

Questions Landowners Ask
Every job starts with a phone consultation, then a site visit. For smaller projects you usually get a quote on the spot. Larger or more complex projects take a couple of days to price and come with an estimated start date. Acreage, terrain, and how thick the vegetation is drive the number.
Traditional clearing pushes vegetation into piles that have to be burned or hauled off, and it usually disturbs the topsoil. Forestry mulching grinds brush and small trees where they stand and leaves the mulch on the ground. There is nothing to haul, the soil stays put, and the ground is walkable when the machine leaves. Full clearing still makes sense when a site has to come down to bare dirt, and we offer both.
Payment is settled as part of your quote or estimate. Ask about payment options during your phone consultation and we will walk you through what works for your project.
Mulched ground stays open far longer than mowed ground, but Louisiana regrowth never fully quits. Periodic bushhogging or a lighter follow-up mulching pass keeps plots and lines open. We can set that up when your initial project wraps.
